Fall and Summer Registration

White graphic with black and green text reading “Fall and Summer Registration,” with the word “Registration” outlined in green. Centered below, handwritten-style black text reads “Now Open,” encircled by a green oval.

Registration for the Summer 2025-26 and Fall 2026 semester is open in MyTech. Check with your instructors to see whether you’ll be registering together in class, or on your own. Please read through the attached instructions before registering.  Try to complete the registration process before the end of the spring semester.

Course availability during registration is based on a code system tied to your program and lab section. You should have access to register for courses prescribed in the normal plan of study. However, if you’re enrolled in multiple programs or registering for courses outside your plan, you may not see all the courses you need. Register for what you can, then either email me or stop by my office (Administration side of Campus Center) with the specific courses and section numbers you need added—I’ll help you get them scheduled.

You must review your advising worksheet to determine which courses you need to register for. This is the same tool Jill will use at graduation time to verify degree completion. Make sure all the requirements are met. If something doesn’t look right, please ask.

If you do not plan to return to Mitchell Tech in the fall for reasons other than graduation, please inform your student success coach.

Internships and Summer Courses- Are You Ready?

Beige textured graphic with black text reading “INTERNSHIPS AND SUMMER COURSES.” Below, green handwritten-style text asks, “Are You Ready?” Green bracket-like arrow shapes appear on the left and right sides of the text.

  • A career GPA of 2.0 or higher is required to participate in internship. Students with a career GPA below 2.0 may appeal to participate in the internship and the internship will be removed from your schedule until the appeal process is completed and approved.
  • Internships are considered a class, and you earn college credit for the experience. As such, there is tuition associated with the internshipIf you plan to use federal financial aid to pay for your internship, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2026-2027 school year.  Use this link to complete the new application: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
  • Course registration is set to open on or around March 25th. Here are a few things to think about as you consider a summer course schedule:
    • General education courses are offered online.
    • The summer semester is condensed – meaning fewer weeks long, but the coursework is generally the same. In other words – summer courses are intense.
    • Online courses are NOT work at your own pace – even in the summer. There will be due dates.
    • Internship courses have a coursework component. You will generally need to turn in weekly assignments on MyTech, depending on your instructor’s requirements. If you do not submit your weekly coursework, it may  be difficult to pass your internship.
  • Bottom line on summer coursework:
    • Online summer coursework is intense because of the condensed semester – especially when you are working full time.
    • If you failed a face to face offering of a general education course, being successful in an online offering will be difficult.
    • Before registering for summer coursework, please consider your summer obligations and hobbies and be realistic about the amount of time you’ll have or want to commit to an online class.
    • Visit with your student success coach if you have questions or want to talk through concerns before registering.
