Description
This course is designed to provide essential foundational mental health nursing emphasizing the principles of psychiatric nursing care, therapeutic communication, and evidence-based interventions. Students will explore common mental health disorders, crisis management, pharmacological and non-pharmacological care and ethical considerations of psychiatric nursing. Emphasis is placed on patient-centered care, cultural competence, communication, and collaboration within the interdisciplinary team. Prerequisite: LPN 105, LPN 106, LPN 107, LPN 108. Corequisite: LPN 110, LPN 113
